And...we're off...

...to the land of William Wallace, skirts and music that sounds like a dying cat

And, what's that? These must be made up names -- Biggleswade, really?

King's Cross Station was funky

We got breakfast in a pot (cup) at Leon.  We forgot the train served free breakfast...but, we were also at the station an hour early due to Salmi's totalitarian-like scheduling regime.

Good eats at Gordon Ramsey's Flagship restaurant!

Epic four hour tasting dinner at Gordon's restaurant Petrus. Crazy good eats -- see menu below -- featuring a few of his signature dishes :-)

Tourist Day**

** day was highlighted by us taking many pictures of things we have previously taken pics of multiple times in years past.

Below is the famed British TV crime fighting duo, "Fish 'N Chips"

Big Ben...Parliament (required joke)

They called Edward I "Longshanks" because he was 6'2", a "giant" in his day.  Below you'll find David Salm-shanks

Couldn't get near 10 Downing

Bar Italia

Anthony Bourdain said it had the best coffee in London.  It was as if devine magical fairies were peeing on my tonsils.

Morning, 'Guvna

Hitting up Bourdain's favorite London cafe.

So, we flew 4100 miles, trekked across town and, yelm, Andy is watching the finale of Breaking Bad.

My view from Wembley

Salmi and Andrew were upstairs yesterday. View from my seats below. I sat next to the metrodome announcer and he was unimpressed with the PA guy at Wembley; said he screwed up timing of the player intros.

Here I am by myself. Stuck in section 107.

Wembley has some ridiculously cool and large big screens. Right before the game they showed the Vikings locker room live. Very cool.

More Wembley

Ash has a Wembley Halo

Ash & Dave

Not much to eat in London at 1 in the morning

Fortunately, though, we found a great noodle shop to go all Anthony Bourdain in the situation.

While waiting for food, we met a guy who is Mongolian. We expressed how much we like Mongolian barbecue, and he burst our bubble when he said it was the invention of the Chinese, and now the Mongolians do it just to please the tourists.

Wembley Awesome!

More detailed content to come later, peeps, but tonight was really, really amazing -- except for the fact that I could not get up to the upper deck to meet up with Salmi and Andrew. And we had no rendezvous point.

This meant that I had to go all Warrior and bop my way back to Coney Island -- er, I mean our flat.

Breakfast at Bill's

Pip, pip, Cheerio. Good morning chums. It is Game Day.

Andrew and I are hitting a sweet, old school breakfast joint on Kings Way. The birthday boy is back asleep after a long day yesterday (after leaving Mpls at 10pm Friday, we each slept about 2-3 hours on plane and then were up til 2am BST last night / this morning).

Full English Breakfast

Yuck!

Brits don't know the difference between pro and college football!

They were handing out this card yesterday at NFL experience.

NFL promo, but the player's helmet says "Big Ten" on it. More like a Big Fail.

Happy Birthday Dave!

One of life's more difficult questions is what do you get the man who ALREADY lives the Salmi lifestyle? (for the unlearned, that means living large)

Answer: you get him what he likes best...a delicious, egg McMuffin breakfast.

Regent Street

The NFL closed down the busiest shopping street in London.  Taxi drivers weren't happy.

Hittin' the NFL Experience on Regent St

Amazing time on Regent St this afternoon. Walked the famous street in grand fashion as it was closed not traffic for the NFL. We noticed that the Vikings had the worst position owning to the on-going and verifiable fix that the NFL has on against them.

Hit a few pubs on side streets and talked it up with fellow Minnesotans.
